Ongoing, HUDSON RIVER PARK NEIGHBORHOOD GARDENER

Neighborhood Gardeners will work within a designated segment of the Park corresponding to a Manhattan west-side neighborhood.

Responsibilities include the following the following:
Installation of plant and garden material
Maintenance of the Park’s landscape including weeding, pruning, mulching, cutting of grasses, addition of soil amendments, cleaning of vegetation beds, and pest identification
To regularly and punctually attend designated weekly volunteer times

Requirements:

While training will be provided, Neighborhood Gardener should:
Have prior horticulture experience including general planting and landscape/garden maintenance
Be willing and able to get dirty and perform physical labor
Be willing to work in nearly all weather conditions
Be willing to work with other volunteers and staff members with a good attitude in a team setting
Be willing to converse with park patrons about the Park and its landscape
Have an enthusiasm to improve the Park’s landscape
Days / Times: Tuesday / Thursdays, Mornings and Afternoons
